This is a part time position, starting at 10-15 hours a week. This includes a few hours a week doing community outreach activities. Being the face of Pathway.
Pathway Hospice and Palliative Care, is Southern Utah's only Hospice Specialist. Not all Aides are the same, share with us, what makes you excited to help frail people at a critical time in their life.
Pathway is unique that we commit far more resources to patient care, you will not be alone in caring for patients. We commit more time, we would rather you get paid for enough time to improve the lives for the patient. Often 6 to 10 hours per patient per week. But we also have a wide array of additional therapies, Palliative Cares, and services available for patients, that enhance their hospice experience. Meaning our clients feel better and enjoy life more. Simply, we have better, more satisfied, less grumpy patients to work with. Everyone is happier.

Responsibilities
- Be the best representative of YOU, and of Pathway, and of the role of Hospice Aide.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure nutritional needs are met.
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Observe and report any changes in patient condition or behavior to nursing staff.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
- Provide care for patients with specific needs including Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, or developmental disabilities.
Requirements
- Confidence in your ability to communicate. Previous experience in hospice care, home health, or long-term care settings preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with EMR systems is a plus.
- Certification in CPR is required; additional certifications related to caregiving are advantageous.
- Strong observational skills for monitoring patient conditions effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is beneficial.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
