Job Title: Adoption Event Coordinator
The Adoption Event Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing events that promote the adoption of animals in our care. This role combines event planning, marketing, and direct animal handling to increase visibility, drive donations, and foster community engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Plan, coordinate, and execute adoption events both on-site and off-site ( i.e.pet stores, malls, community events)
● Collaborate with local businesses and community partners to organize adoption events and fundraising events.
● Represent the organization at community events and fundraising events
● Work with the marketing team to promote events through social media, email newsletters, and traditional advertising.
● Handle event logistics, including transportation of animals, setting up event materials, and managing volunteers.
● Serve as the public face of the organization during events, providing excellent customer service and information about adoptable animals
● Maintain accurate records of event attendance, adoptions, donations, and post-event reports.
● Input accurate information and documentation for adopters
● Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of animals during all events. Report any illness or injuries of animals, volunteers, staff, or customers immediately to the Director of Operations.
● Interact with and assist potential adopters
● Develop innovative ideas to boost attendance and increase adoption rates.
● Serves as point of contact for training event volunteers
● Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator to recruit volunteers for events
● Ability to work business hours, evenings, and weekends
● Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
● Highly motivated and ability to show initiative
● Must have a passion for animals and animal health and well being
● Ability to problem solve and make thoughtful and appropriate decisions for the situation
● Adhere to policies and make decisions in the best interest of the organization and animals
● Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to drive company vehicles
Experience:
● Proficiency with basic office software (i.e Google docs, Google drive, and cloud based platforms)
● Experience volunteering in a shelter environment (preferred)
● Bilingual is preferred but not required.
Education:
● High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Experience:
- event: 1 year (Preferred)
- animal handling: 1 year (Preferred)
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
