We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for patient intake, appointment scheduling, phone management, insurance verification and payment processing while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including HIPAA.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Intake: Greet arriving patients, verify identification, and distribute registration paperwork.
- Appointment Scheduling: Make appointments using Electronic Health Record (EHR) software to maximize provider utilization.
- Phone Management: Screen and route high-volume incoming phone calls to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Insurance Verification: Confirm patient benefits, check coverage eligibility, and input insurance details accurately.
- Payment Processing: Collect copays, resolve outstanding balances, and process credit card or cash transactions.
- Clinic Coordination: Act as a liaison between patients, doctors, and nurses to communicate wait times or delays.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with medical reception experience.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including scanning, filing, and data entry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
