Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough orthodontic assessments, including patient evaluation, dental diagnosis, and treatment planning using digital imaging and medical records.
- Provide comprehensive orthodontic treatments such as braces, aligners, and other appliances, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with general dentists and specialists to coordinate care for complex cases involving oral surgery, prosthodontics, or pediatric dentistry.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
- Utilize dental software systems like Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for scheduling, charting, and record keeping.
- Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety during all procedures.
- Educate patients on treatment options, oral health maintenance, and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental wellness.
Qualifications
- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school with specialized training in orthodontics.
- Valid state license to practice dentistry and orthodontics.
- Proven experience with orthodontic procedures including dental implants, root canal therapy, oral surgery, and endodontics is preferred.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and healthcare diagnosis processes.
- Familiarity with dental office management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic technique.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex treatment plans clearly.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry and working with pediatric patients is a plus.
