Dispatch Coordinator / Customer Service Representative
Job Summary
We're seeking a highly organized and dependable Dispatch Coordinator to support daily transportation operations. This position serves as the primary point of contact for drivers, parents, and schools, ensuring smooth communication and efficient transportation services.
The ideal candidate is professional, customer-focused, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics, customer service, or administrative support is preferred but not required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily transportation operations and driver communications.
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist parents with transportation-related inquiries.
- Respond to emails, text messages, and customer service requests in a timely manner.
- Communicate route updates, schedule changes, and important information to drivers.
- Assist with route planning and route adjustments using transportation software.
- Assign new students to existing routes and maintain transportation records.
- Monitor driver attendance and coordinate coverage for driver absences when necessary.
- Communicate with schools regarding transportation schedules and student transportation needs.
- Maintain accurate records of students, routes, drivers, and transportation activities.
- Support management with administrative and operational tasks.
- Assist in resolving transportation issues and customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Serve as a backup driver when needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and basic computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics, customer service, or administrative support.
- Experience coordinating schedules, routes, or field personnel.
- Experience with routing or dispatch software.
- Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
- Valid Florida Driver License.
- CDL license is a plus but not required.
Compensation
- Full-Time Position
- Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour, depending on experience
