Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Deck Builder to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing durable, high-quality decks that enhance outdoor living spaces for our clients. Your expertise in framing, carpentry, and various construction techniques will ensure each project is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute deck designs
- Frame decks using appropriate materials such as wood, metal studs, or composite products, ensuring structural integrity
- Install metal building components and perform metal stud framing as needed for specialized deck features
- Erect supporting structures including posts, beams, joists, and railings with precision and safety in mind
- Operate power tools and hand tools effectively to cut, shape, and assemble deck components
- Perform concrete forming and finishing work for foundational elements when required
- Install additional features such as siding, trim carpentry details, stucco accents, or roofing components to complete the project aesthetic
- Manage heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Read and follow schematics accurately while adhering to safety protocols on-site
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure timely project completion
Skills
- Proven experience in construction site work with a focus on framing, carpentry, or deck building
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and schematic interpretation
- Skilled in metal building erection, rebar installation, masonry, plastering, roofing, siding, and remodeling techniques
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and safety procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday
- Experience with concrete forming and finishing processes for foundational support structures
- Familiarity with welding practices for structural reinforcement when necessary
- Knowledge of construction management principles to coordinate tasks effectively on-site
- Competence in working with various materials including wood, metal studs, siding materials, stucco, and composite products
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of construction work
