FLSA Status: non-exempt, hourly
Working Hours: 6:30am - 3:30pm, M-Th
6:00am-Noon-F
Summary:
An Assembler performs manual labor in a production and assembly line. Operates and troubleshoots production line machinery, equipment and may perform minor repairs as necessary.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate production line machinery and / or computers
- Troubleshoot production line machinery
- Perform equipment change-overs
- Responsible for quality control
- Make adjustments, as necessary, to product within specifications.
- Reject product outside of specifications.
- Operate within Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Job Safety Standards.
- Operate forklift (must be certified) to maintain raw material supply for production line
- Communicate with operators from other shifts and departments.
- Clean and maintain work area.
- Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
- Other duties as assigned
- Work in a safe and productive manner.
Qualifications:
Education and / or Experience:
- Basic knowledge of operating equipment and machines.
- Basic reading, writing and verbal communication skills required, normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- REQUIRED – Fork Lift Certification (done onsite and requires a valid driver’s license)
Mathematical Skills:
- REQUIRED - Ability to accurately read product prints / spec sheets and measurements.
Working Conditions:
- Manual dexterity required for operating machines and equipment.
- Frequent walking, standing, crouching, kneeling.
- Frequent ability to lift 75 lbs or more of materials and product.
- Ability to operate lift truck requires a valid Driver’s License or valid Occupational License and Company Certification
Work Environment:
- Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted.
- Environment can be extremely dirty.
- May be exposed temperature extremes (hot and cold)
- Some exposure to increased level of noise.
- Ability to work independently or with a team
