As a Field Service Technician, you are the face of Rattunde at our customer sites. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex machinery. From emergency repairs to planned precision inspections, you ensure our clients’ production lines stay running at peak efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and basic electrical issues. Repair or replace mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components.
- Global Collaboration: Coordinate remotely with commissioning technicians at Rattunde Corp (USA) and Rattunde AG (Germany) to integrate and calibrate repaired components.
- Machine Inspections: Conduct thorough machine audits and generate detailed technical reports. Prioritize findings to provide customers with a clear, actionable repair roadmap.
- Planned Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance protocols to prevent downtime and extend machine longevity.
- Logistics Management: Partner with the internal Project Coordinator to ensure all specialized toolboxes are fully stocked and staged before shipment to job sites.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
Required:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, field service, or a related technical field.
- A strong background in hands-on mechanical and electrical systems is essential.
Preferred:
· Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology. (Higher education will reflect in compensation.)
Technical Competencies
Required:
- Tools: Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and electrical instruments (multimeters, ammeters).
- Precision: Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and machinist levels.
- Software: Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and communication.
Preferred:
· Proficiency with Siemens PLCs, Pneumatic systems
· Remote diagnostic experience
Core Requirements
- Documentation: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, technical manuals, and blueprints.
- Communication: Strong verbal skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
- Credentials: Must possess a valid Driver’s License and a valid Passport (for travel to Canada/Germany).
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Travel Intensity: This position requires extensive travel (75%), including frequent air travel and long-distance driving. Must be able to talk, hear and travel by driving car/van and via airplane.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs and navigate industrial environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Environment: Work is performed in active manufacturing plants. Expect exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical risks, loud noise levels, and varying industrial temperatures. While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, extreme heat, and vibration.
