Program Coordinator Job Summary:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive service area and the recruitment, facilitation, curriculum oversight and all aspects of day-to-day management of the program. This individual leads a team of two to four people, providing direct coaching, instruction, case management and goal planning. The program coordinator generates plans with youth and team members, tracks program & client outcomes, and submits reports according to agency, county, state and federal requirements.
Essential Functions for the Program Coordinator
- Proactively engaging youth in daily activities, developing and connecting youth with resources in their community, and facilitating specialized group activities.
- Fosters positive community relations and quality service delivery and outcomes.
- Successfully engage youth using positive youth development, trauma-informed and culturally appropriate frameworks.
- Provide high-quality leadership and supervision to team members, volunteers and interns in all program settings and foster a culturally sensitive, youth-centered environment.

Ensure up-to-date paper & electronic client records in compliance with program, county, state and federal regulations and private grant requirements as applicable.

Coordinate curriculum implementation as well as updates and program activities through self-directed and collaborative efforts with other VYH team members and collateral support people. This may include oversight of service purchase agreements & vendor relationships.

Promote youth and team well-being by creating physically, emotionally and mentally safe spaces and proactively addressing negativity by integrating designated modalities from a trauma-informed, positive youth development perspective.
Minimum Qualifications for the Program Coordinator

Bachelor's degree in human services field

An individual 21 years of age or older

Demonstrated ability to identify with and adapt to the goals and philosophies of the independent living program.
- Knowledge of adolescent development and behavior.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, provide proof of vehicle insurance, and passing inspection on any vehicle used for daily work and transportation of clients as well as meet motor vehicle driver check requirements.

Proficient in computer knowledge & skills and web based applications (i.e. Google suite, Microsoft, Electronic Health Records, etc.)

Never have been convicted of any prohibited criminal or child abuse offense.

Available to work a flexible schedule with the possibility of working weekends and/or
nights, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree and minimum of two-year's experience working with adolescent population

Strong organizational skills and highly adept at managing multiple tasks and assignments.

Successful team members are creative thinkers, are flexible in their approaches to people and projects, and are capable of working with diverse groups of the population
Physical Demands:

Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (i.e., during client interviews, documentation, or meetings).

Frequent movement within office, facility, or community settings to meet with clients, families, and service providers.

Capacity to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. (i.e., case files, laptops, resource materials, assisting clients during move in process).

Adequate vision and hearing to observe client behavior, read documents, and participate in conversations in various environments.

Occasional travel to off-site locations, which may require driving or use of public transportation
