A well-respected Seattle litigation firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal (5308) to join its fast-paced practice as a direct hire. This position will support an experienced attorney handling a busy litigation caseload, including a significant amount of medical malpractice work. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing cases independently, working extensively with medical records, and providing hands-on support throughout all stages of litigation. The firm offers significant hybrid flexibility, with two days in office and three days remote after 60 days fully in office.
Responsibilities
- Manage a litigation caseload and assist with matters from discovery through trial.
- Review and analyze medical records and prepare detailed medical chronologies.
- Manage discovery, document production, and case-related materials.
- Draft, format, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation and organization of case materials.
- Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, client meetings, and court appearances.
- Maintain organized electronic case files and litigation calendars.
- Monitor deadlines and proactively assist attorneys in moving cases forward.
- Work independently while collaborating closely with attorneys and other members of the litigation team.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience.
- Prior law firm experience required.
- Strong experience with discovery, case management, and trial preparation.
- Experience reviewing medical records and preparing medical chronologies.
- Medical malpractice experience strongly preferred; approximately 30% of the practice involves medical malpractice matters.
- ProLaw experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
- Ability to independently manage multiple matters and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable learning and utilizing litigation technology and case management systems.
Compensation
Up to $90,000 annually, DOE.
