Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating bilingual instruction techniques to support language acquisition and subject mastery.
- Deliver engaging lessons across subjects such as math, science, language arts, and physical education, utilizing learning technology and differentiated instruction to accommodate various learning styles.
- Manage classroom responsibilities effectively by establishing clear expectations, maintaining discipline, and fostering a positive learning environment conducive to student growth.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing and ongoing assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Mentor and support students academically and socially by implementing behavior management strategies and addressing individual learning needs through special education accommodations when necessary.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school initiatives, and extracurricular activities such as sports coaching or library services to enrich the student experience.
- Ensure compliance with educational regulations and standards while maintaining accurate records of attendance, grades, and behavioral reports.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of middle school curricula with expertise in math topics such as algebra, geometry, calculus, trigonometry, and proofing techniques.
- Excellent communication skills in both languages to facilitate clear instruction and effective public speaking.
- Proven classroom management skills with the ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles and developmental stages of teenagers.
- Experience in curriculum development using standards like AP style or the Chicago Manual of Style for writing assignments and instructional materials.
- Proficiency in learning technology tools that enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
- Ability to mentor students individually or in groups while fostering their social-emotional development through childhood development principles.
- Familiarity with educational compliance requirements, standardized testing procedures, and private school or Montessori teaching environments is a plus.
- Demonstrated skills in literacy education, creative writing, copy editing, tutoring, and public speaking to support comprehensive student growth.
