This Functional Academic Program position provides special education services for students in grades 3–6 in a variety of settings, including the classroom and community-based environments.
Students in this program have a wide range of needs and are supported in developing functional academics, communication, daily living, social, and vocational skills that promote independence and successful transition to adult life within the community.
Instruction focuses on practical academics, communication, community participation, domestic skills, and vocational readiness. The program emphasizes communication, maximizing independence, and providing opportunities for students to apply skills in natural settings while participating in general education activities alongside their peers.
