Town of Batesburg-Leesville, SC ZONING ADMINISTRATOR/BUSINESS LICENSE SPECIALIST
Maintains a comprehensive, current knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards: maintains an
awareness of changes to rules and regulations in zoning and land use; and attends workshops and seminars as
appropriate.
Processes a variety of documentation associated with department operations within designated timeframes and per
established procedures; receives, reviews, records, types, and/or distributes applications, ordinances, survey plats,
zoning variance requests, or other documentation; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of
department reports; and files, maintains, and stores hardcopy records.
Communicates with supervisor, appointed board members, other Town employees, outside agencies, the public,
and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or
resolve problems.
Operates various equipment as necessary to complete essential functions: operates a personal computer to enter,
retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, Internet, e-mail, or other software;
and operates general office or other equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in Business Administration or related field required; supplemented by three (3) years of
experience in zoning administration, code enforcement, business licensing, or related field; or any equivalent
combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for
this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: None.

to calculate decimals and percentages; may include the ability to perform mathematical operations with fractions;
may include the ability to compute discounts, interest, and ratios; may include the ability to calculate surface areas,
volumes, weights, and measures.
Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of influence systems, such as motivation, incentive,
and leadership, and to exercise independent judgment to apply facts and principles for developing approaches and
techniques to resolve problems.
