Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Pump Mechanic to join our maintenance team, dedicated to ensuring the optimal operation of diesel fueling systems and heavy equipment. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel pumps, fuel delivery systems, and associated machinery across various industrial and construction environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical expertise, familiarity with OEM standards, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including farm equipment, construction machinery, and heavy-duty vehicles, contributing significantly to operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel fuel pumps, including troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel pumps, ensuring proper calibration, alignment, and functionality.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed for repairs or upgrades using hand tools and welding techniques.
- Conduct inspections on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and construction machinery to identify wear or defects.
- Maintain and repair auxiliary systems including air brakes, hydraulics, transmissions, suspension systems, HVAC units, and tire services.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics and electrical experience to troubleshoot complex issues on diesel engines and industrial equipment.
- Follow OEM specifications for repairs and ensure compliance with safety standards during all maintenance activities.
- Assist in the assembly of new equipment or replacement parts for ongoing projects.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large components or machinery parts.
- Document repair procedures accurately and communicate effectively with team members regarding maintenance status.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Pump Mechanic or in heavy equipment maintenance within a dealership or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals; familiarity with OEM standards is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; skilled in using power tools.
- Knowledge of construction machinery servicing such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery.
- Ability to perform electrical diagnostics on complex systems; experience with automotive diagnostics is advantageous.
- Skilled in heavy equipment operation with a focus on safety protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks consistently; capable of working in various environmental conditions.
- Valid certifications related to diesel mechanics or heavy equipment maintenance are preferred.

Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
