Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble components for menu items with precision and efficiency
- Cook and plate dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including food handling and safety protocols
- Ensure proper food storage, rotation, and inventory management to minimize waste
- Follow all food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout food preparation and service
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department, dietary aide role, or restaurant kitchen preferred but not required; willingness to learn is valued
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic food preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Experience with meal preparation, cooking, and food service operations in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail, organization skills, and a positive attitude toward culinary tasks
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
