Position Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced and dependable Equipment Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment to complete excavation, grading, and underground utility projects. The ideal candidate has solid operating experience, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate equipment such as excavators, skid steers, dozers, and loaders for excavation and grading work.
- Perform trenching and backfilling for underground utilities and drainage systems.
- Read site plans, grades, and layout markings to ensure accurate cuts, fills, and depths.
- Assist with job site setup, coordination, and cleanup as needed.
- Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections; report any mechanical issues.
- Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures.
- Work closely with laborers, drivers, and supervisors to keep jobs running smoothly and efficiently.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Proven experience operating excavation equipment (excavator, skid steer, dozer, etc.) in construction or site development.
- Knowledge of grading, trenching, and underground utility installation.
- Ability to read grade stakes, laser levels, and blueprints is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Must be dependable, safety-minded, and able to work outdoors in various conditions.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed.
