Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all tools and materials are ready for use.
- Take high-quality dental X-rays and operate medical imaging devices such as 3D scanners while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards.
- Manage patient records using electronic health record system with Open dental ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment details.
- Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
- Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures aligned with clinical confidentiality policies.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing patient management software to optimize clinic flow.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and equipment operation.
- Proficiency in Open Dental a plus. familiarity with dental coding and documentation is a plus.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices including dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards.
- Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry, including oral structures and medical terminology related to dentistry and pediatrics.
- Certification or training in X-ray operation, dental assisting, or related fields preferred; CPR certification is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage patient care effectively while working collaboratively within a team focused on general dentistry services.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
