Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health status is maintained
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and document accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Provide compassionate dementia care and memory support tailored to individual needs, including Alzheimer’s and other cognitive impairments
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with transfers and mobility
- Engage residents in social activities and group programs to promote mental stimulation and socialization
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control standards are met
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living or long-term care environments with a focus on geriatrics or seniors’ health
- Strong knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and behavior management techniques
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or other special needs
- Excellent caregiving skills with a compassionate approach to personal support and resident engagement
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and safety protocols
- Proficiency in using EMR systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling, driving residents when necessary, and respond promptly in emergency situations such as first aid or CPR certification
