A paraprofessional works under the direction of a licensed educator to support and assist with providing instructional and non-instructional services to students.
Paraprofessional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Be capable of physically assisting students with ambulation and navigation within the school premises and community.
- Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the teacher.
- Assist in the implementation of goals for the students and monitor their progress.
- Provide necessary support to enable them to participate in all activities.
- Reinforce appropriate behaviors through the use of positive behavior support.
- Aiding other professionals such as speech therapists, social workers, and occupational and physical therapists during instruction.
- Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records, display of student work, one-to-one or small group instruction as outlined by the teacher, and other supportive tasks.
- Support students with emotional or behavioral concerns and assist them in developing appropriate social skills.
- Implement behavior plans and collect data with appropriate training.
- Teaching and assisting students in daily life skills such as feeding, ADLs, and toileting as needed
- Be able to lift a min. of 50 lbs.

Qualifications:
- 1-3 years’ experience in the field preferred
- Be at least 21 years of age. Have a high school diploma.
- Be capable of physically assisting students with special needs as required

Pay: $32,960.00 per year
