Position Overview The Dietary Manager is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals for our residents while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. This is a hands-on role — you will be cooking daily while also managing scheduling, food procurement, and compliance with applicable health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and prepare daily meals and snacks that meet residents' nutritional needs and personal preferences, including therapeutic and modified texture diets
- Apply strong culinary skills to produce meals that are nutritious, well-prepared, and genuinely enjoyable for residents
- Manage kitchen scheduling and coordinate dietary staff coverage
- Maintain food inventory, place orders, and manage food costs within budget
- Ensure kitchen operations comply with Georgia DPH Food Code 511-6-1 and State fire and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen at all times
- Document menu cycles, food temperatures, and other required records
- Collaborate with care staff to accommodate resident dietary restrictions, preferences, and care plan requirements
- Participate in resident care conferences as needed regarding dietary concerns
Qualifications

Demonstrated culinary skills with the ability to prepare a variety of meals from scratch, including Southern and comfort food favorites that resonate with our resident population
- Proven experience in food service, preferably in a senior living, healthcare, or institutional setting
- ServSafe certification required or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Ability to plan menus that are both nutritious and visually appealing
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a small team
- Comfortable with basic administrative tasks including scheduling and inventory tracking
- Compassionate, patient, and resident-focused
Preferred

Formal culinary training or equivalent hands-on experience
- Experience working in a personal care home, nursing facility, or assisted living community
- Knowledge of common therapeutic diets (low sodium, diabetic, pureed, etc.)
- Experience with food cost management
Schedule Full time. Schedule includes weekdays with rotating weekend coverage based on operational needs.
Compensation Competitive, based on experience.
