General Statement: Provide support to the educational process with specific focus on instructional and mentoring practices. This includes maintaining a positive learning environment, where all students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and generally receive the individual attention they deserve to effectively learn the material in a lesson plan.Providing a foundation in Cosmetology acquainting high school students with the fundamentals of Cosmetology practices and the foundation for future study in Cosmetology related fields through engaging, hands-on curriculum, and encouraging the development of problem-solving skills, critical thinking and creative/innovative reasoning.
Responsibilities

Manage student learning in accordance with the goals of the District.

Implement lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.

Organize students for effective instruction.

Ensure the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.

Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information.

Comply with and support school and District regulations and policies.

Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.

Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
Qualifications:

Experience:
-
2 years of Secondary level teaching in Cosmetology is preferred.

Education:

Bachelor's degree required.

Certification:
-
Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
