Responsibilities:
· Design fire protection systems, including fire sprinkler, fire alarm, suppression, fire pump, and mass notification systems.
· Perform hydraulic calculations and develop code-compliant fire protection system designs in accordance with NFPA, ICC, and applicable building and fire codes.
· Conduct building and life safety code analyses and prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
· Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors to deliver fire protection solutions throughout all phases of project execution.
· Lead design staff, review engineering deliverables, and provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and field inspections.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Safety Technology or other related discipline.
· At least 10 years of related professional experience.
· Will not now or in the future require sponsorship for an employment visa (examples: H-1B, L-1B, or other temporary visa status like OPT or F-1) to work for Jacobs in the U.S.
· Familiarity with NFPA and ICC codes and standards
· Willingness to travel to jobs sites around the world (estimate around 10-15% travel)
· Experience in fire sprinkler, suppression, and fire alarm system layout utilizing hydraulic calculation programs, and knowledge of NFPA Codes, and International Building and Fire Codes
· PE in any U.S. State, having passed the fire protection engineering examination.
