IV Pharmacist – National Institutes of Health (NIH) | Bethesda, MD
GLC Government Services is seeking a skilled and dedicated IV Pharmacist to support a government contract at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. Schedule
Candidates must be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.
Potential shift times may include:
- 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy preferred
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Minimum one (1) year of recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required
- Demonstrated experience in sterile compounding and Intravenous Admixture Unit (IVAU) operations required
- PGY1 or PGY2 residency training preferred
- Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy, infusion services, and/or unit dose distribution strongly preferred
- Ability and willingness to float between Unit Dose and IV departments as needed
- Strong teamwork, communication, and independent decision-making skills
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile compounded medications, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition products
- Compound, formulate, prepare, dispense, and ensure proper handling and preservation of medications
- Support investigational drug services and assist in developing specialized formulations to meet unique patient needs
- Provide clinical consultation and guidance regarding medication therapy and appropriate drug utilization
- Participate in pharmacy operations, quality initiatives, and administrative activities supporting hospital pharmacy services
- Maintain compliance with all applicable pharmacy regulations, safety standards, and institutional policies
