Job Description
As a Senior Advisor, you will play a key role in helping clients achieve their financial goals through customized investment strategies and holistic financial planning. Drawing on your industry expertise and deep market knowledge, you’ll manage client relationships, develop financial plans, and guide portfolio strategy. This role also involves mentoring junior advisors, supporting business development, and contributing to the overall success of the firm.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary advisor for a portfolio of clients, delivering personalized advice and service.
Build strong relationships with current and prospective clients, focusing on long-term trust and performance.
Lead financial planning efforts, including investment analysis, cash flow forecasting, tax planning, and implementation of strategic recommendations.
Collaborate with colleagues across advisory, investment, and operational teams to deliver cohesive client solutions.
Monitor client portfolios and proactively communicate changes, performance updates, and tailored recommendations.
Drive new business through networking, referrals, and participate in firm-sponsored business development initiatives.
Stay informed on market conditions, industry trends, and regulatory updates to provide clients with timely and relevant guidance.
Mentor and coach junior advisors, supporting their development and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
Represent SJS within the community by engaging in networking events, nonprofit boards, and service initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial advisory or investment management.
CFP® and/or CFA designation preferred.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and approach challenges with analytical thinking.
Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and colleagues.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with financial planning and CRM software is a plus.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
