Scrub Tech
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Surgical Scrub Tech shall be responsible for assisting surgeons and nursing in preparation and performance of surgical procedures, and processing and furnishing sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and services for the care and treatment of the patients.
Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical, or employment status of patients of Riverside Medical Center and their families.
Must follow accepted safety practices for patients and hospital. Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action. Must participate in safety instructional programs.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Exposure to infectious diseases and potentially hazardous materials as covered in safety orientation. Required to care for patients of all ages in a variety of classifications (may include the criminal and mentally ill patient).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. At least two years of scrub tech experience in a hospital or medically related environment preferred. Graduate of accredited surgical tech program preferred.
Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given.
Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.
Must demonstrate good judgment & show good reasoning ability.
Must be able to work independently and adjust to a changing environment.
