We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Superintendent specializing in Structural Concrete to lead and oversee large-scale construction projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all aspects of structural concrete construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans, schematics, and specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain seamless workflow and timely delivery of materials.
- Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar construction management software; monitor progress regularly and adjust plans proactively.
- Oversee safety compliance by enforcing OSHA standards and conducting regular safety meetings; ensure all team members operate with proper use of equipment such as ohmmeters and heavy-duty tools.
- Manage budgets effectively by tracking costs related to labor, materials, and equipment; implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings; interpret technical documents accurately to guide onsite activities.
- Conduct quality control inspections to verify that concrete work meets industry standards; address any deficiencies promptly.
- Supervise field personnel, including subcontractors and labor crews; provide mentorship and ensure supervision experience is upheld across teams.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of daily reports, incident logs, inspection records, and contract compliance using construction management software like ProCore or Bluebeam.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations such as OSHA requirements; facilitate training sessions on site safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy civil or structural concrete construction management with a strong background in supervising large teams on active sites.
- Extensive knowledge of construction scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and HeavyBid; proficient in project planning and resource allocation.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately; familiarity with construction estimating processes.
- Strong understanding of contracts management, budgeting principles, and quality control procedures within the construction industry.
- Hands-on experience with construction site safety practices aligned with OSHA standards; capable of conducting safety audits and training sessions.
- Skilled in using construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and other relevant tools for documentation and communication purposes.
- Excellent management skills with prior supervising experience overseeing diverse teams in demanding environments.
- Ability to operate technical equipment such as ohmmeters for electrical testing when necessary; familiarity with pipeline work is a plus.
- Effective communicator capable of coordinating across multiple disciplines while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Pay: $85,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
