R&C Consulting Group, Inc. is continuously seeking experienced and dedicated behavioral health professionals to support the delivery of mental health and substance use services throughout North Carolina.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Qualified Professional (QP) provides direct behavioral health and substance use services to children, adolescents, adults, and families while coordinating treatment planning, service delivery, and ongoing care. The Qualified Professional is responsible for reviewing assessments, interpreting diagnoses, developing, reviewing, updating, and approving Person-Centered Plans (PCPs), coordinating care with treatment teams and community partners, completing service authorizations, and ensuring services are delivered in accordance with regulatory, payer, and agency requirements.
The Qualified Professional functions as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team and works under the direction of the assigned Team Lead and program leadership to ensure quality service delivery, regulatory compliance, and positive client outcomes. The Qualified Professional works collaboratively with clients, families, Associate Professionals, Paraprofessionals, Peer Support Specialists, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors, and other members of the treatment team to support stability, independence, recovery, and overall well-being.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities may vary by program and may include:
- Developing, reviewing, updating, and approving Person-Centered Plans (PCPs) in accordance with regulatory and payer requirements
- Reviewing clinical assessments, interpreting diagnoses, identifying strengths, needs, and service gaps, and utilizing assessment findings to develop, update, and monitor Person-Centered Plans (PCPs) and individualized treatment goals
- Completing initial and ongoing service authorizations, reviewing authorization requirements, developing supporting clinical documentation, and ensuring services remain medically necessary and compliant with payer requirements
- Coordinating care with treatment teams, referral sources, schools, healthcare providers, community partners, and natural supports
- Providing direct behavioral health and substance use services to individuals and families
- Monitoring treatment progress and modifying interventions based on client needs and outcomes
- Coordinating and facilitating Child and Family Team Meetings, treatment team meetings, crisis planning meetings, family meetings, and other collaborative service planning activities
- Providing clinical guidance, support, and oversight to Associate Professionals, Paraprofessionals, Peer Support Specialists, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors, and other assigned team members when applicable
- Working collaboratively with the assigned Team Lead regarding caseload management, service delivery expectations, program operations, client concerns, and quality improvement initiatives
- Assisting individuals and families with accessing community resources, healthcare services, educational supports, employment resources, and other needed services
- Providing services in homes, schools, offices, and community settings as appropriate
- Maintaining timely, accurate, and professional documentation of all services provided
- Maintaining compliance with Medicaid requirements, service definitions, documentation standards, regulatory requirements, and agency policies
- Maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies
- Participating in required supervision, staff meetings, program meetings, and training activities
- Performing other duties as assigned to support quality client care and service delivery
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a human services field or related discipline required
- Must meet North Carolina Qualified Professional (QP) requirements
- Demonstrated experience working in behavioral health, mental health, substance use treatment, social services, healthcare, education, child welfare, or related human services settings
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a healthcare environment
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability and willingness to provide community-based services and travel within assigned service areas
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Experience reviewing clinical assessments, interpreting diagnoses, and developing Person-Centered Plans (PCPs) based on identified strengths, needs, and treatment goals
- Experience developing, reviewing, updating, and approving Person-Centered Plans (PCPs)
- Experience completing initial and continued service authorizations, developing supporting documentation, and maintaining compliance with payer, Medicaid, and regulatory requirements
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary treatment teams
- Experience providing community-based behavioral health or substance use services
- Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families
- Knowledge of Medicaid service definitions, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements
- Experience supervising, mentoring, or supporting clinical support staff
