Harbor Table is seeking a reliable, hardworking Cook to join our back-of-house team. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to our recipes and standards, assisting with daily food prep, and supporting dishwashing duties as needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cook Menu Items: Prepare and cook dishes during service according to established recipes, presentation standards, and quality expectations.
- Food Prep: Assist with daily prep tasks including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, marinating proteins, and portioning items.
- Dishwashing Support: Wash dishes, kitchen equipment, and utensils when needed; help maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
- Station Setup: Set up your workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment before service begins.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep work areas, equipment, and utensils clean and organized throughout the shift.
- Follow Safety Standards: Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines at all times.
- Teamwork: Communicate effectively with chefs, servers, and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations during service.
- Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control, including proper labeling, dating, and storage of food items.
Qualifications:
- Previous cook or kitchen experience preferred, but we’re willing to train the right person.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to assist with dishwashing and kitchen cleaning as needed.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to teamwork.
- Food handler’s certification (or ability to obtain one) preferred.
