Controller / Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Northeast
Join an aggregates, asphalt, and ready-mix concrete producer as a strategic, hands-on financial leader responsible for overseeing the company's accounting and financial operations. This role provides financial leadership across multiple plants and locations, partnering with executive management and operations to drive profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term growth.
Salary: $150k-$200k +

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all accounting and financial operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial analyses.
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and treasury functions.
- Manage cost accounting, inventory valuation, and financial reporting for aggregates, asphalt, and ready-mix operations.
- Partner with plant managers and executive leadership to analyze operating costs, improve margins, and support strategic decision-making.
- Develop capital budgets and evaluate equipment purchases, plant expansions, and other major investments.
- Manage banking relationships, financing, audits, tax compliance, insurance, and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Lead and develop the accounting and finance team while driving continuous process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including senior financial leadership.
- Experience within aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix concrete, construction materials, mining, heavy civil construction, or manufacturing preferred.
- Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, cash management, and internal controls.
- Experience supporting multi-site operations and capital-intensive businesses.
- ERP system experience and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and strategic planning abilities.
