Job Title: Financial Specialist

Position Summary
The Financial Specialist is responsible for managing financial operations, analyzing financial data, maintaining accounting records, supporting payroll administration, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. This position plays a key role in budgeting, financial reporting, cash management, and process improvement while providing financial support to management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Process and verify payroll while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor company expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Track budgets and provide variance analysis to management.
- Assist with financial forecasting and cash flow management.
- Coordinate with external auditors, accountants, and financial institutions.
- Prepare tax-related documentation and assist with regulatory reporting.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Maintain confidential employee payroll and financial information.
- Support insurance administration, benefit reconciliations, and other finance-related projects.
- Assist with annual budgeting and strategic financial planning.
- Develop and improve financial procedures and documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Associate's degree with equivalent accounting or finance experience may be considered.
- Three or more years of accounting, finance, payroll, or financial analysis experience preferred.
- Experience with ERP, accounting, or payroll systems (such as SAP, Paychex, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
