Position Overview
Marion Technical College is seeking a part-time instructor to join our Massage Therapy program. This part-time position is scheduled for Monday through Thursday evenings from 4:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., for 25-28 hours per week. This role is ideal for a licensed massage therapist with strong clinical expertise and instructional skills, capable of delivering both didactic and hands-on laboratory instruction. You will teach in alignment with Florida’s state curriculum framework standards, preparing students for successful careers in massage therapy and wellness professions.

Essential Functions
- Prepare and maintain course outlines and learning objectives aligned with state standards.
- Develop lesson plans featuring student-centered learning activities and real-world applications.
- Deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction in both classroom and laboratory settings.
- Instruct, demonstrate, and evaluate students’ competencies in massage techniques, anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, infection control, professional ethics, and client communication.
- Maintain accurate student skills checklists and submit documentation for student records and state reporting.
- Provide remediation and individual support as needed to ensure student success and retention.
- Supervise and assess students during clinical and hands-on practicum experiences in compliance with program standards.
- Monitor and document student progress; communicate concerns and success plans to the Program Director.
- Record and post attendance and grades in Focus according to established timelines.
- Participate in program assessments, accreditation reviews, and Advisory Committee meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain expertise through continuing education and professional development in massage therapy and wellness practices.
- Respond to email and communication promptly; maintain professionalism in all correspondence.

Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in the State of Florida
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant massage therapy or wellness industry experience
- Experience with therapeutic massage techniques, client assessment, body mechanics, and infection control practices
- Prior instructional, mentoring, or clinical supervision experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and instructional technology
- Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of a hands-on instructional environment
- Proficient in current massage therapy techniques and professional standards
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $32.47 per hour
License/Certification:
