Leg Pain & Vascular Institute is seeking an experienced Vascular Ultrasound Technologist / Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) to join our growing vascular practice.
No evening, weekends or call.
Must be willing to work at both locations location in zip codes 77065 and 77034.
The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in lower-extremity venous reflux/insufficiency examinations as well as lower-extremity arterial Doppler/duplex ultrasound for peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Will also have the opportunity to help out with vein ablation procedures.
Experience performing Pedal Acceleration Time (PAT) assessment is highly preferred.
This is a full-time position, 4–5 days per week, in an outpatient vascular practice.
Key Responsibilities
Venous Ultrasound
- Perform comprehensive lower-extremity venous reflux/insufficiency examinations
- Perform lower-extremity venous duplex studies for evaluation of DVT and other venous pathology
- Accurately identify and document the deep and superficial venous systems
- Evaluate reflux involving the GSV, SSV, accessory veins, perforators, and deep venous system
- Obtain accurate vessel measurements and reflux times
- Perform appropriate augmentation and compression maneuvers
- Identify and document varicosities and relevant tributaries when indicated
- Assist with pre-procedure mapping and post-procedure surveillance when needed
- Assist with vein ablation procedures.
Arterial Ultrasound / PAD
- Perform comprehensive lower-extremity arterial Doppler and duplex ultrasound examinations
- Evaluate patients for peripheral arterial disease (PAD)
- Identify, characterize, and document arterial stenosis and occlusive disease
- Obtain accurate Doppler waveforms and velocity measurements throughout the lower-extremity arterial system
- Evaluate arterial flow from the inflow vessels through the tibial and pedal circulation as clinically indicated
- Perform and document Pedal Acceleration Time (PAT) measurements
- Accurately assess pedal arterial waveforms and perfusion
- Perform ABI/TBI and other noninvasive vascular testing when indicated
- Assist with pre-procedure evaluation and post-intervention arterial surveillance when needed
General Responsibilities
- Produce consistent, high-quality diagnostic images
- Complete preliminary worksheets/reports accurately and efficiently
- Maintain accurate patient documentation
- Recognize significant vascular findings and communicate them appropriately to physicians and clinical staff
- Provide a professional, comfortable, and compassionate patient experience
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and follow appropriate infection-control and patient-safety protocols
- Work efficiently while maintaining excellent image quality and attention to detail
Qualifications
Required:
- Hands-on experience performing lower-extremity vascular ultrasound
- Strong proficiency in lower-extremity venous reflux/insufficiency examinations
- Proficiency in lower-extremity arterial Doppler/duplex examinations for PAD
- Ability to independently perform complete vascular ultrasound examinations
- Strong knowledge of lower-extremity arterial and venous anatomy
- Strong understanding of vascular hemodynamics and Doppler principles
- Ability to recognize abnormal arterial and venous findings
- Excellent ultrasound imaging and Doppler skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce consistent, reproducible studies
- Excellent patient-care and communication skills
Preferred:
- RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) credential through ARDMS
- Experience performing Pedal Acceleration Time (PAT)
- Experience with ABI/TBI and physiologic arterial testing
- Experience in a dedicated vascular, vein, or interventional practice
- Experience with pre-procedure vascular mapping
- Experience with post-procedure venous and arterial surveillance
- Experience evaluating patients with chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins, peripheral arterial disease, and limb ischemia

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
