American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ED experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

12-hour night shift, 7p-7a, 36 hours per week
-
Emergency Department in a 457-bed Trauma Level III teaching hospital with Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center of Excellence, and Bariatric Center of Excellence designations

RN to patient ratio of 1:5 max, acuity dependent
-
Treats trauma patients including GSW, stabbing, MVA, falls, stroke, heart failure, chest pain, fluid resuscitation/blood products, COPD, cardiac cath pre, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, mental health, respiratory illness, GI disorders, liver failure, and AKI/CKD

EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Phillips monitors used

Every other weekend rotation required

No on-call requirements

Required to float within Region 1 including Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any Freestanding ED within Region, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, LCH)

Active RN license (NC or compact) required

Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required

TNCC certification preferred

Minimum 2 years of ED experience required, with most recent experience within the last year

Trauma and stroke experience required
-
Skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, conscious sedation, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, critical care drips, and blood administration required

EPIC EMR experience required

Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration

Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
-
Support team includes CNAs, receptionist/HUC, 24/7 charge nurse, IV/VAT team, 24/7 respiratory therapy, 24/7 hospitalist, and ED physicians

Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) and 2 days of departmental orientation

Travelers required to work 75% of holidays
-
Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with time added to the end of the contract if contracted hours are not met

Navy scrub color required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Previous employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
