Responsibilities
This is a full-time work from home position. Meeting in person happens twice a month. This role is for a Bilingual Referral Coordinator (Spanish speaking), located in Houston, TX (southwest Houston). The Referral Coordinator will assist patients and healthcare providers by managing appointment scheduling and facilitating effective communication between parties. Daily tasks include handling patient referrals, ensuring proper documentation on our in-house Monday system, and providing exceptional customer service over the phone and in person. The role requires bilingual proficiency to serve diverse patients effectively.
Salary starts at 20.00 an hour with a total of 6 paid holidays a year currently. Bonuses are also available. In-person training is required so you would meet with the Patient Access director three days a week for training for at least a month. There will also be some training that can be done on your own, at home. You will be provided with a laptop and phone for work use. We are looking for someone who enjoys learning new things and has a positive attitude. We always promote from within when possible.
Skills
- Knowledge of some Medical Terminology to manage patient referrals and ensure documentation accuracy. Please know, some data entry is required and basic use of adobe acrobat and outlook.
- High school or GED is a must, prefer some college.
- Strong Communication and Phone Etiquette skills to interact professionally with patients, providers, law firms and coworkers.
- Customer Service expertise to provide a positive and supportive experience for patients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in a second language (bilingual required) to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple referrals and scheduling tasks seamlessly.
- Experience in a healthcare or administrative role is preferred.
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
