Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility to promote independence and comfort
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status
- Support medical teams by preparing and maintaining medical equipment and supplies for procedures and treatments
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies
- Assist with patient transfers using appropriate transfer methods and manual handling techniques to prevent injury
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns
- Support emergency response efforts by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) skills such as CPR when needed in acute situations
Skills
- Prior experience working in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable
- Knowledge of hospital medicine, emergency medicine, and post-acute care practices
- Hands-on experience with pediatric intensive care units (PICU), intensive care units (ICU), or medical-surgical units
- Familiarity with medical terminology, electronic health records management, and medical documentation standards
- Ability to operate medical equipment safely and efficiently in outpatient, inpatient, or clinic settings
- Strong understanding of infection control procedures and patient safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills for effective caregiver interactions and team collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to work with geriatric patients and those requiring sub-acute or outpatient care
