Job Summary
Join our vibrant team as a Tasting Room Associate, where your enthusiasm for wine and exceptional customer service will create memorable experiences for our guests. In this dynamic role, you will serve as the welcoming face of our winery, guiding visitors through tastings, sharing your wine knowledge, and fostering a warm, engaging atmosphere. This paid position is an hourly rate, including any additional tips earned.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide engaging wine tastings, explaining tasting notes and vineyard stories to enhance guest enjoyment
- Assist customers in selecting wines based on their preferences, upselling premium options to increase sales
- Maintain knowledge of our wine menu, including details about varietals, vintages, and food pairings to educate guests effectively
- Operate POS systems for processing sales and transactions
- Ensure proper wine service etiquette, including pouring techniques and glassware handling in accordance with hospitality standards
- Provide feedback on popular wines and customer preferences
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tasting areas
Experience
- Proven ability to sell wine to customers through effective upselling and personalized recommendations
- Knowledge of wine service techniques, including serving etiquette and wine knowledge fundamentals
- Background in hospitality or customer service roles that involve serving guests in a lively setting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate guests about wines while delivering exceptional service
