This position is based out of our Sacramento office and involves daily travel to commercial customer sites throughout Northern California.
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join our growing team.
This role is responsible for inspecting, testing, and performing system checks on commercial fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards, local fire codes, and company procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional with customers, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working independently in the field.
Our customer sites include warehouses, apartment communities, office buildings, schools, industrial facilities, retail centers, restaurants, and other commercial properties.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, testing, and system checks of commercial fire sprinkler systems
- Inspect risers, control valves, gauges, backflows, fire pumps, tamper switches, and related equipment
- Identify code and system deficiencies and clearly document findings
- Prepare accurate and timely inspection reports and service documentation
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding inspection findings and recommendations
- Coordinate with office staff and scheduling teams to complete work efficiently
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, testing equipment, and inventory
- Follow NFPA standards, OSHA requirements, and company safety procedures
- Stay current with industry standards, codes, and regulations through ongoing training
- Support department goals by taking ownership of work quality and customer service
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in fire sprinkler inspection, fire protection, mechanical trades, or related technical field
- Knowledge of NFPA 25 standards preferred
- NICET certification is a plus
- OSHA-10 certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage field schedules effectively
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Comfortable working on ladders and in commercial/industrial environments
- Basic computer and tablet proficiency for digital reporting
- Self-motivated, dependable, and professional
- Ability to pass drug screening and criminal background checks due to customer site requirements
