JoyRide Logistics LLC is seeking an HR Generalist to support the full employee lifecycle for its workforce across Arizona, California, Texas, and Nevada. This role is the day-to-day operational engine of the HR function, handling onboarding, employee relations support, benefits and leave administration, compliance, and HR recordkeeping in a fast-paced transportation and logistics environment.
The HR Generalist will work on-site at JoyRide's Phoenix, Arizona office and partner closely with Recruiting, Operations, Maintenance, and Payroll. This position is built for an HR professional with 2 to 5 years of generalist experience who wants broad exposure across every HR discipline and a defined path for advancement as the HR and Recruiting function grows.
This role is designed to grow with the department, with advancement potential toward Senior HR Generalist or HR Manager responsibilities based on demonstrated performance, ownership, and business impact. High performers will gain direct exposure to employee relations strategy, multi-state compliance, and HR program buildout.
Key Responsibilities
● Administer onboarding and offboarding for W-2 employees, including offer letters, new hire documentation, I-9/E-Verify compliance, orientation, and exit processing
● Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions on policies, benefits, payroll issues, and workplace concerns, escalating matters appropriately
● Support employee relations activity, including intake and documentation of workplace concerns, participation in investigations, and preparation of accurate, timely written records
● Administer benefits enrollment, workman’s comp,terminations; coordinate open enrollment and serve as liaison to benefits vendors and brokers
● Coordinate leaves of absence, workers' compensation claims, and workplace accommodation requests, including supporting the interactive process and maintaining required documentation
● Maintain HRIS data, personnel files, and required employment records with accuracy and confidentiality, keeping files audit-ready
● Support multi-state employment compliance across Arizona, California, Texas, and Nevada, including wage and hour requirements, required postings, sick leave administration, and final pay rules
● Partner with Recruiting on job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and pre-employment processes, including background and MVR checks where applicable
● Support performance management administration, including tracking review cycles, documentation standards, and corrective action recordkeeping
● Assist with policy rollout, handbook acknowledgments, and required training administration
● Prepare HR reports and metrics for leadership as requested
● Perform other duties as assigned to support HR and business operations
Performance Expectations
● Complete onboarding and offboarding processes accurately, on time, and with a strong new hire experience
● Maintain audit-ready personnel files, I-9s, and HRIS records with a high standard of accuracy
● Respond to employee inquiries promptly and professionally, with clear escalation of sensitive matters
● Produce complete, well-documented records for employee relations and leave matters
● Demonstrate reliable on-site presence and consistent follow-through on assigned work
● Build working knowledge of AZ, CA, TX, and NV employment requirements within the first 90 days
Required Qualifications
● 2 to 5 years of progressive HR generalist experience
● Working knowledge of core employment laws and HR compliance fundamentals, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and I-9 requirements
● Strong written documentation skills and sound judgment handling confidential matters
● Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office
● Ability to work on-site at the Phoenix, AZ office five days per week, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, nights and weekends will be required based on business demand.
Preferred Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
● PHR or SHRM-CP certification, or active pursuit of certification
● Multi-state HR experience, particularly California
● Experience in transportation, logistics, or another dispersed-workforce industry

Work Environment and Expectations
This role operates in a professional office environment at JoyRide's Phoenix, AZ headquarters and requires reliable on-site attendance five days per week. The role requires prolonged periods of sitting and computer use and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. This role includes a competitive base salary and benefits package. Specific compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.
