We are seeking an experienced, organized, and dependable Program Site Supervisor to oversee all World Explorers programming at an assigned location.
Position Summary
The Program Site Supervisor is responsible for the overall leadership, daily operations, and quality of all World Explorers programs operating at their assigned site. This role provides direct supervision to onsite staff, ensures compliance with organizational policies and licensing requirements, maintains strong relationships with families and school partners, and creates a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children.
As the primary onsite leader, the Program Site Supervisor works closely with the Operations Manager to ensure programs operate efficiently, staff are supported and held accountable, and World Explorers' standards are consistently upheld.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership
- Oversee the daily operations of all World Explorers programs at the assigned site.
- Ensure programs are safe, organized, engaging, and operating according to company standards.
- Maintain consistent daily routines, schedules, and high-quality program delivery.
- Foster a positive, professional, and accountable team culture.
Staff Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise, coach, and support counselors and other onsite staff.
- Set clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback to promote staff growth and performance.
- Ensure staff consistently follow company policies, supervision expectations, and safety procedures.
- Support onboarding, training, and daily staff development.
- Communicate staffing needs, performance concerns, and operational updates to the Operations Manager.
Child Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Department of Health (DOH), Department of Education (DOE), licensing requirements, and World Explorers policies.
- Maintain active supervision of children at all times.
- Respond appropriately to incidents, behavioral concerns, illnesses, injuries, and emergencies.
- Complete and submit required documentation accurately and on time.
Family & School Partnerships
- Serve as the primary onsite contact for families and school personnel.
- Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with caregivers and school partners.
- Address questions and concerns promptly while providing excellent customer service.
- Support family engagement initiatives and site events.
Administration & Operations
- Maintain accurate attendance, dismissal records, and program documentation using Brightwheel.
- Verify authorized pickups and ensure safe dismissal procedures.
- Monitor site supplies, equipment, and inventory.
- Ensure classrooms and program spaces remain clean, organized, and program-ready.
- Coordinate daily staffing coverage and communicate operational needs.
Program Quality
- Monitor program implementation to ensure activities are engaging, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with World Explorers' mission.
- Promote positive behavior management practices and inclusive learning environments.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen program quality and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Human Services, Recreation, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in youth development, childcare, afterschool, camp, or educational programming.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience managing staff or leading a team.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee daily program operations, support staff performance, and communicate effectively with families.
- Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting children's social-emotional development and positive behavior.
- Proficiency with technology and digital recordkeeping; Brightwheel experience is a plus.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain ).
