Budget Blinds Madison & Athens, located in Madison, AL is looking for a hardworking, dependable, punctual, trustworthy, strong sense of integrity, detail-oriented individual whose focus is providing exemplary customer service and installing beautiful window coverings in customer’s homes.
We are a family owned, local and independent Budget Blinds franchisee operators, living here and serving the greater North Alabama communities since 2005. We are a drug free, alcohol free & smoke free workplace.
To be considered, please have the following background and skills:
Responsibilities
- Installation of all types of window treatments at residential and commercial job sites; products include but are not limited to blinds, shutters, shades, draperies, and motorized window treatments.
- Ensure proper fit and function of window coverings.
- Measure homes and businesses for window treatments.
- Coordinate with the office, sales team, and vendors to resolve any difficult installations or issues.
- Use simple computer programs (email, text, Touchpoint)
- Repair broken or damaged products and work with manufacturers to resolve issues as necessary.
- Check-in freight, label, and organize the warehouse.
- Load and unload work van on install days. Dumpster at warehouse to take care of the day's trash.
- Maintain a clean, organized and well stocked install vehicle.
- Participate in lead generating programs.
Qualifications
- Prior general carpentry/workmanship skills from any industry. Experience working as an in-home installer is a plus.
- Must have experience in the proper use of hand-held power tools and wall fasteners, including drills, screwdrivers, wall anchors, etc.
- Ability to read a tape measure to the 1/16" of an inch (required).
- Ability to climb a ladder up to a 16' reach and/or to work from scaffolding when required.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and can climb up and down ladders (required).
- Ability to pass a drug screen test & background check, plus clean driving record with no felonies (required).
- Valid driver’s license and insurance. Good driving record (required).
- Punctual, dependable, trustworthy and strong sense of integrity (required).
- Professional appearance and positive disposition.
- Written and verbal communication skills are critical when interfacing with all levels of Budget Blinds staff and clients.
- Friendly, courteous, and pleasant with all types of people (required).
- Prior experience working alone as well as with a team to provide excellent service to customers.
- High school diploma or equivalent completed education level desired.
- Ability to learn and install new technology as introduced to the window covering and installation industry.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
