About the Role
Mr. Handyman is seeking a personable, professional, and detail-oriented Estimator to meet with homeowners, assess repair and home improvement projects, gather information and write estimates that convert into booked work.
This role combines customer service, sales, and basic construction knowledge. The ideal candidate enjoys meeting people, is comfortable in customers' homes, can accurately measure projects, and has the ability to build trust and confidence that leads homeowners to choose Mr. Handyman for their repair and remodeling needs.
Responsibilities
- Meet with homeowners at their residences to assess repair, maintenance, and improvement projects
- Listen carefully to customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions
- Take accurate measurements and gather project details required for estimate preparation. Prepare estimates for customers
- Document project scope, photos, and material requirements to create estimates
- Build rapport and trust with homeowners through excellent communication and professionalism
- Educate customers about Mr. Handyman's services, reputation, workmanship, and guarantees
- Follow up on estimates and assist in converting opportunities into sold projects
- Coordinate with office staff and technicians to ensure smooth project handoff
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable meeting and speaking with homeowners in their homes
- Ability to take accurate measurements and understand basic construction concepts
- Experience writing estimates
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to learn company pricing and estimating procedures
Preferred Experience
- Home improvement sales or customer service experience

Compensation
- The role is paid 5% of revenue for all closed jobs. Historically, the closed jobs are $100K-$150K per month.
