About the Role
We’re seeking a dependable, organized Line Cook/Kitchen C to support our limited-service taproom kitchen.
This position plays a critical role in shaping the taproom experience. While primarily back of house, the food you prepare directly impacts guest satisfaction and return visits. Consistency, cleanliness, and timing matter here—because great food supports great beer and helps make the taproom a place guests want to come back to.
This role is best suited for someone with hands-on kitchen experience who can stay organized, manage prep, and execute service confidently while working independently as needed. You’ll be an essential part of a collaborative taproom team, contributing to a smooth, high-quality experience that reflects Jackalope’s standards and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble menu items according to established standards, ensuring hot food is served hot and cold food is served cold
- Complete prep based on projected business levels so the kitchen is stocked, organized, and ready for service
- Manage prep, ticket flow, and execution efficiently during service, including periods of limited supervision
- Coordinate food timing with the front-of-house team to keep service flowing smoothly
- Perform and document temperature checks; follow all food safety, sanitation, and holding standards
- Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen, prep, and storage areas using a “clean as you go” approach
- Execute opening and closing duties thoroughly so the kitchen is inspection-ready and properly stocked
- Keep storage organized, rotate product correctly, and communicate inventory needs to management
- Approach your work with professionalism and pride, understanding food quality impacts reviews and repeat visits
- Support busy service periods, weekends, and brewery events as needed
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means food is prepared correctly and consistently, the kitchen remains clean and organized throughout service, prep supports expected volume, and communication with FOH keeps service flowing smoothly.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of hands-on kitchen experience in a commercial, fast-casual, or limited-service kitchen
- Comfortable managing prep, organization, and service flow with limited supervision when needed
- Working knowledge of food safety, temperature control, and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and standards consistently
- Pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
- Ability to read kitchen tickets accurately and communicate clearly with FOH
- Reliable, punctual, and available to work nights, weekends, and busy service periods
- Professional appearance and respectful, team-oriented attitude
Certifications
- Food Handler or Food Safety Certification (preferred)
Schedule & Physical Requirements
- Availability for nights, weekends, and special events
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and safely move kitchen supplies as needed
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, compact kitchen environment
