Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and caring Resident Assistant to join our team! In this vital role, you will support residents with daily activities, promote their well-being, and foster a warm community atmosphere. Your dedication will help enhance the quality of life for our residents by providing personalized assistance and compassionate care in a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Support residents with medication reminders and basic health monitoring such as vital signs
- Help with feeding, and ensure proper nutrition for residents
- Engage residents in social activities and recreational programs to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and communicate effectively with nursing staff about resident needs
- Follow safety protocols for manual handling and resident transfers to prevent injury
- Support residents with cognitive disabilities or memory care needs through personalized engagement and behavior management strategies
Experience
Candidates prior assisted living or long-term care experience, including working with individuals with dementia or cognitive disabilities is a bonus. Experience in nursing homes, residential care homes, or home & community care settings is highly valued. Skills in medication administration, first aid (including CPR), safe patient lifting practices, and caregiving are essential. Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, geriatrics, behavioral management, and client communication will help you succeed. A background in manual handling, heavy lifting, cleaning, and meal preparation further supports your ability to provide comprehensive resident support. Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in group home environments is a plus, but not necessary.
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
