Job Brief
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Job Coach / Employment Specialist to join our Hope Services team. This position will support individuals in West Pasco County helping them identify their strengths, overcome barriers, and achieve meaningful employment. The ideal candidate will be a mentor who thrives on empowering others — whether assisting professionals seeking career development or helping people with disabilities succeed in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective job coaching and employment plans.
- Communicate with clients to understand their goals, interests, and ambitions.
- Help clients identify and overcome personal and professional barriers.
- Assess individual strengths and provide training to enhance employability.
- Support clients in learning and completing specific job tasks.
- Foster motivation, confidence, and skill development in clients.
- Provide coaching in resume writing, interviewing, and job search techniques.
- Assist people with disabilities in building social, communication, and life skills.
- Advise employers on workplace accommodations and inclusion practices.
- Monitor client progress, provide feedback, and adjust plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and prepare timely reports in compliance with agency and funding requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven experience as a job coach, employment specialist, or similar role.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop employment or service plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data entry.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and client-centered service.
- Ability to motivate and inspire others toward their goals.
Education & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Social Services, Human Services, Psychology, Education, or related field with six (6) months of experience working with persons with disabilities,
– OR –
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Human Services, Psychology, or related field with one (1) year of experience,
– OR –
- High school diploma with four (4) years of experience in a public vocational rehabilitation program or similar field working with persons with disabilities.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a Level 2 background screening and drug test prior to employment.
- Must have reliable transportation for travel within assigned counties.
