Duties
- Operate forestry equipment to perform tree care, logging, and land clearing activities efficiently and safely
- Conduct landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, trimming, and invasive plant management to promote healthy ecosystems
- Perform routine maintenance on heavy machinery and power tools to ensure optimal operation and safety standards are met
- Support forest management initiatives through tree identification, climbing, pruning, and hazard assessment activities
- Drive commercial vehicles in rural or remote areas to transport equipment or materials while adhering to safety regulations
Skills
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance, landscaping, or ecological restoration projects
- Supervising experience leading teams in forestry or land management settings
- GPS navigation systems
- Strong knowledge of tree care practices including trimming, climbing techniques, and hazard mitigation
- Construction experience involving heavy lifting, hand tools, power tools, and general site development
- Familiarity with natural resource management principles such as invasive plant control and pesticide management
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely in rural or rugged environments while maintaining compliance with safety protocols
- Excellent driving skills with experience in rural areas or off-road conditions for transporting equipment or personnel
- Knowledge of horticulture practices relevant to native plant propagation and restoration efforts
