Busy and expanding dermatology practice seeks highly motivated and personable Medical Assistant. Must have at least a 3-year minimum of medical assisting experience, and dermatology experience is very much preferred.
Basic job duties involve direct patient care, exam room maintenance, and health desk duties. Must have experience with rooming patients, assisting provider during exams and surgical procedures, and patient education. Must also have experience with prescription requests, transcribing patient questions, and maintaining a positive attitude.
Duties:
- Direct patient care: intake patient history and prepare for exam, assist provider with biopsies and surgeries, write prescriptions and educate patients
- Exam room maintenance: stock rooms with supplies, clean exam rooms, sterilize instruments
- Health desk duties: call the pharmacy with prescription requests under the direction of the provider, prior authorizations, call patients with lab/pathology results, maintain the organization of the medical records
Salary is hourly; commensurate with experience.
This is a great opportunity for someone on track to becoming a Physician's Assistant or Doctor. A full 2-year steady commitment would be required in that case.
