We are partnering with a well-established, community-focused banking institution seeking an experienced Comptroller / Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its leadership team.

Position Overview
The Comptroller / CFO will oversee all financial operations of the bank, ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial leadership. This role acts as a key advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors on financial planning, capital management, and overall risk oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the bank’s financial strategy aligned with organizational objectives
- Advise executive leadership on financial planning, performance, and growth initiatives
- Support evaluation of mergers, acquisitions, and investment opportunities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and banking regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with external auditors, regulators, and rating agencies
Risk Management
- Monitor credit, market, and liquidity risks across the organization
- Collaborate with risk leadership to maintain strong internal controls and governance frameworks
Capital & Liquidity Management
- Manage capital adequacy, including regulatory requirements and stress testing
- Oversee liquidity planning and balance sheet optimization
- Support asset-liability management (ALM) strategies
Treasury & Investment Oversight
- Supervise treasury operations, cash flow management, and funding strategies
- Oversee investment portfolio performance and interest rate risk management
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead annual budgeting and long-term financial planning processes
- Provide financial analysis and forecasting to support executive decision-making
Board & Stakeholder Reporting
- Present financial performance and insights to the Board of Directors
- Maintain relationships with regulators, auditors, and key stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in banking or regulated financial services
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, regulatory reporting, and internal controls
- Experience with Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC), AML, or BSA (preferred)
- Proven leadership experience managing finance/accounting teams
- Strong communication and executive presentation skills
Preferred Experience
- Background in community or regional banking
- Experience with capital adequacy, liquidity management, and ALM
- Prior exposure to regulatory examinations and audit processes
- Experience presenting to executive leadership and Board-level stakeholders
