We are seeking experienced Outside Plant (OSP) Engineers to support the planning, design, engineering, and delivery of telecommunications infrastructure projects across fiber optic and copper networks. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing OSP designs, coordinating with construction and permitting teams, supporting network expansion initiatives, and ensuring all engineering deliverables meet quality, customer, and regulatory requirements.
This role requires strong knowledge of aerial and underground fiber networks, utility coordination, permitting processes, construction standards, and telecommunications infrastructure deployment
Key Responsibilities
Design and engineer aerial, underground, and buried fiber optic networks.
Produce complete OSP construction work packages, including:
- Route designs
- Fiber placement plans
- Splice schematics
- Pole loading packages
- Construction drawings
Perform field surveys, site walks, and feasibility assessments.
Develop high-level and low-level network designs.
Coordinate with municipalities, utility companies, railroads, and permitting agencies.
Support enterprise, carrier, and backbone network projects.
Review field data and incorporate as-built information into engineering designs.
Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, permitting coordinators, and customers.
Ensure compliance with customer standards, National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), local regulations, and industry best practices.
Support project budgeting, material estimates, and construction forecasting.
Identify design conflicts and develop engineering solutions to maintain project schedules.
Participate in project status reviews and provide technical guidance throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications
5+ years of OSP Engineering experience within the telecommunications industry.
Experience designing aerial and underground fiber networks.
Knowledge of NESC standards and utility engineering requirements.
Familiarity with permitting processes and municipal requirements.
Experience supporting fiber construction projects from design through closeout.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, GIS, or related field preferred.
Equivalent telecommunications industry experience will be considered.
