JOB SUMMARY:
The Sewing Machine Operator supports Manufacturing by operating industrial sewing machines to manufacture quality products, including canvas and nylon bags.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate industrial sewing machines of the following types: single-needle, double-needle, serger/overlock, and bartacker.
- Cut webbing and cord from rolls using automatic cutting machines.
- Operate hole-punch press and snap attachment machines.
- Apply prints to products using silk screening equipment.
- Trim, assemble, fold, and package products.
- Inspect finished products for quality and conformance to specifications.
- Work effectively with team members to meet production goals.
- Learn and perform additional sewing tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Report on equipment problems or product quality concerns.
- Other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Manager, including non-sewing tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Previous experience operating industrial sewing machines.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequently sit or stand for extended periods during the workday.
- Frequently use hands and fingers to operate sewing equipment and handle materials.
- Frequently reach, bend, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
- Occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Maintain visual attention to detail while inspecting products and performing sewing tasks.

Experience:
- Industrial sewing machine: 2 years (Preferred)
- Embroidery: 2 years (Preferred)
