Overview
The nursery worker handles hands-on tree farm work, including plantings, potting, pruning, staking, watering, fertilizing, moving, loading, unloading, and general tree care. This is outdoor labor that requires consistency, a strong work ethic, and attention to keeping nursery stock healthy, organized, and ready for sale or delivery.
Responsibilities
- Plant, pot, shift, and maintain trees in containers, and / or field areas.
- Prune trees as directed to maintain form, structure, clearance and sale-ready appearance.
- Stake, tie, brace, and adjust trees to keep them upright and properly supported.
- Water trees, monitor irrigation, and assist with fertilization and soil / media work.
- Inspect trees for basic health issues, pests, disease, broken limbs, leaning or poor growth.
- Move trees, containers, soil, tools, supplies, and materials by hand or with equipment as needed.
Requirements
- Valid drivers licence with a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to work outside in heat, cold, rain, mud, and changing weather conditions
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, squat, dig pull, push, and perform physical labor through ought the day.
- Willingness to learn tree care.
- Dependable attendance.
- Equipment experience is helpful but not necessary.
Pay: $18.00 per hour
